 Dr. Janine Hopkins is a board-certified dermatologist, who established her practice of Dermatology in Monroe in 1996. Along with general dermatology, Dr. Hopkins specializes in laser, cosmetic and dermatologic surgery. She pioneered cosmetic dermatology in Northeast Louisiana introducing the laser, skin rejuvenation, Tumescent Liposuction, laser hair removal, Microdermabrasion, Botox, Restylane and Juvederm. Dr. Hopkins frequently attends continuing medical education seminars to keep abreast of the newest developments in her specialty.
Dr. Hopkins is an active member of the Dermatology Foundation as a member of the Leader's Society. She has been a Vice State Chair for three years and currently serves as the Louisiana State Chair for this fundraising organization that supports research in dermatology. Dr. Hopkins is a native of Rayville, LA and was valedictorian for the Class of 1984 at Riverfield Academy. She received her Bachelor of Science Degree with honors from Northeast Louisiana University in 1987. After completing four years of Medical School at LSU School of Medicine in Shreveport, she secured an internship at Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans followed by a residency in the Department of Dermatology at LSU Medical Center also in New Orleans. She is Board Certified by the American Academy of Dermatology and a member of multiple dermatologic medical societies, such as the American Academy of Dermatology, American Society of Dermatologic Surgery, and Louisiana Dermatologic Society. Dr. Hopkins served on the board of the Ouachita Medical Society in 2007.
Dr. Hopkins first opened her practice on August 1, 1996 in the Physician and Surgeons Complex. Her solo practice initially included three employees. To accommodate the growth of her practice, Hopkins Medical Complex has come to fruition!! This beautiful 8,000 sq. foot building is home to Hopkins Dermatology.
